On April 28, 2025, Trader Joe’s voluntarily recalled packages of its ready-to-eat sesame miso salad with salmon across 18 states. The reason? A packaging error introduced an allergen not disclosed on the label.
In a statement, the grocery chain said 500 units of the salad were accidentally packaged with a sealed packet of Parmesan cheese crumbles. The salad normally includes a packet of crispy onions and no traces of milk.
Milk is one of the nine most common food allergens in the United States. Consuming this item could lead to severe allergic reactions, such as anaphylaxis.
