One of my favorite comfort foods is quiche. But making a good quiche takes planning and time, two things I have in small quantities these days. That’s why I love ALDI’s La Terra Fina Classic Lorraine Quiche.
La Terra Fina Classic Lorraine Quiche
- Price: $9.99 for a 23-ounce quiche
- Why I Love It: Studded with bacon, chives, and cheese, this hefty quiche tastes as good as a homemade one. I especially love the hint of nutmeg and pepper in the creamy filling.

Why I Love La Terra Fina Classic Lorraine Quiche
Of all the quiches, none is more classic than the quiche Lorraine, and La Terra Fina does this classic French dish well. At $9.99, it’s a little bit more expensive than some other entrées at ALDI, but an entire quiche weighs in at 23 ounces. It’s a pretty hefty pie. According to the label, there are five servings per package, but I really think there are up to six servings, given how large and rich it is.
The package also offers three ways to prepare it: Bake whole in the oven at 375°F for 20 or so minutes, cut into slices and heat them in the microwave for about 5 minutes, or air fry for 10 minutes at 350°F.
Though I love my air fryer for so many things, cutting this beautiful quiche into individual servings and then cooking it isn’t the way to go. Hands down, the best way to enjoy this delicious dish is to go the old-fashioned oven route.
When you heat this quiche up in the oven, the delicious smell of bacon will waft through your kitchen. The cheese melts beautifully on top of the cage-free egg whites, and it’s chock-full of bacon.
The quiche is also studded tiny bits of fresh chives, and when it comes out of the oven, not only does it smell good, but it looks amazing. Each bite tastes of fresh cream, with hints of nutmeg, pepper, chives, and, oh, the bacon. The pastry crust is flaky and buttery, and goes well with the egg filling.
I love serving this quiche for brunch, but it also makes a weekday breakfast pretty special. If you put it into one of those charming ceramic pie dishes, it will look like you were working all morning to create this gorgeous dish. I think it also makes a good breakfast-for-dinner, especially with some soup or salad to round it out.
In fact, I recently served it for dinner when my parents came to visit, and both my mom and dad loved it. It’s truly one of ALDI’s best-kept secrets.
