The $2.35 ALDI Freezer Find That Tastes Homemade

If you tell me there will be cheesecake at a party, I may let out an audible gasp of excitement. A celebration is always better with cheesecake, so if it’s offered, I’m making a beeline because the rich, creamy dessert totally has my heart.

But when the cheesecake cravings come on a random Tuesday night, my first instinct isn’t to go to a restaurant or to pull out my apron—it’s to head to ALDI’s freezer aisle. 

Why I Love ALDI’s Belmont New York Cheesecake Twin Packs

ALDI’s frozen Belmont Cheesecake Twin Packs are priced at only $2.35 and come with two small slices per pack. The cheesecakes come in three flavors: New York style, strawberry swirl, and turtle.

The New York variation features a classic creamy cheesecake with a graham cracker crust. Strawberry swirl is similar, but with a topping of strawberry purée, and the turtle switches things up with a chocolate graham cracker crust and topping of caramel, chopped pecans, and mini chocolate chips. 

These cheesecake slices are slightly lighter than a homemade or restaurant version, but still quite rich. I buy the New York style when I want a pure cheesecake experience and the strawberry swirl when I’m in the mood for a fruity twist, but my favorite flavor is the turtle. I hadn’t been able to find it in stores for more than a year, but recently saw it listed on Instacart again. I love the lavish toppings and unique chocolate crust, which tastes like crushed-up Oreos. 

Because the package only comes with two slices, I can enjoy a slice of cheesecake without the dedication required to make or eat a whole cake. I can either split the twin package with someone else or have two solo nights of cheesecake fun. I also love that they come frozen, so there’s no need to worry about them going bad. It’s great knowing that at the end of a long day, there’s cheesecake waiting for me. 

How to Enjoy ALDI’s Twin Cheesecakes 

I let the cheesecake slices defrost either in the fridge or on the kitchen counter. The cheesecake gets slightly defrosted on the way home from the store, so it doesn’t take long to come to room temperature if it continues staying out.

If I’m not planning to eat the cheesecake for a few hours, I’ll let it defrost in the fridge, or if I’m saving the cheesecake for another day, I’ll keep it in the freezer.

The New York style and strawberry swirl cheesecake slices are great with fresh berries and a sprinkling of lemon zest on top, and the turtle cheesecake is amazing with a cup of coffee. If you’re a cheesecake lover like me, definitely stock up on a few packs so you too can infuse the magic of this ALDI dessert into your everyday life.
