Just when I think I’ve tried every possible pizza combination from the Mama Cozzi lineup at ALDI, a new flavor appears. I’ve been a longtime fan of the brand’s take-and-bake pizzas and flatbreads, so when I learned that they came out with a new Bacon Cheeseburger flavor, I had to try it.
ALDI Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza
- Price: $4.95 for a 15.4-ounce pizza
- Why I Love It: This thin crust pizza crisps up nicely in the oven and has a strong bacon flavor that’s immediately noticeable.
My Honest Review of ALDI’s Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza
You can find Mama Cozzi’s Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza in the here-today, gone-tomorrow section of the frozen foods area at ALDI, and an entire pizza will cost you just $4.95.
The instructions call for heating your oven at 400°F and placing the pizza right on the middle rack. I personally hate putting pizza directly on my oven racks because there are always crumbs or melted cheese that drip onto the bottom, and a pizza stone cooks every pizza better than the rack method.
If you have a pizza stone, I recommend heating it up in the oven without the pizza, then when it gets to the right temperature, slide that pie right onto it. In my experience, this is the best way to get a crispy crust, so your frozen Mama Cozzi pizza will taste even better.

What surprised me about this new pizza is that it tastes mostly of bacon with a side of cheese and burger. The bacon flavor hit me slightly as I opened the package. Then, while putting it in the oven, it smelled so much like bacon that my dog came into the kitchen (bacon is easily one of her top three favorite foods).
Taking it out of the oven, the bacon aroma tickled my nose even more. Then, I took a bite. The crust crisped up nicely and, if you like bacon, then this pizza is totally for you. My son said it smelled good, but he wasn’t in the mood to try it—he’d rather have an entire Mama Cozzi pepperoni flatbread to himself. He did, however, say that his friends who like bacon cheeseburgers would probably love it. (He is personally not a big fan of cheeseburgers.)
Instead, I shared this pizza with my dad and my husband, who said that, while it reminded him of a bacon cheeseburger, he agreed that the cheeseburger flavors were more secondary to the bacon. My dad said he liked it, but he prefers Chicago-style pizza. Still, for a thin crust, he said it wasn’t bad, which is high praise coming from someone who usually only eats deep dish.
I think I’d buy this again if I had guests who love bacon because this is a bacon pizza first and foremost, and that’s not a bad thing.
