Munni Pramanik

Munni Pramanik (she/her/hers) is a self-taught home cook, food blogger, foodie, and food-oriented traveler. Practically raised in the kitchen watching her Bangladeshi mother whip up meals radiating with culture and love, Munni’s appreciation and adoration for good food started at an early age. Drawing inspiration from her own Bangladeshi-American identity and her love for Pan-Asian cuisine, introduced through various Pan-Asian and Asian-American media representations, young Munni curated her own versions with whatever she found in her South Asian home. As an adult, her love for restaurant hopping and traveling continues to influence her creations, as she believes in expanding flavors through exposure and learning.

Pivoting from her life in Healthcare, Munni is currently pursuing her true passion for food and media. She started The Life of a Mortar and Pestle (ie LMP) in 2020 and is an Editorial Projects Manager for Simply Recipes. She can be found experimenting with diverse flavors on her foodstagram or enjoying a plethora of restaurants (making an unofficial hand modeling debut) and traveling with her sister on their foodiegram. She’s excited to share her food adventures with everyone! 

Favorite food memory: “My favorite food memory as an adult is definitely making a massive pile of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos chicken bites over quartered Eggo Waffles and topped with an ooey-gooey cheese sauce and pico de gallo. Prior to the pandemic, my sister and I hosted monthly themed potlucks, and this was for our "Make It Fancy" potluck. Inspired by the titular Buzzfeed show, our guests followed the spirit of Rie McClenney, the host, to make a common food fancy. I love Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and can’t get enough of chicken & waffles, queue the creation of this massive mound of yum! No one really knew how to dig in without making a mess, resulting in a laughter filled experience. I still think about this from time to time.”
