Costco is a shopper's paradise—think XL sizes of Skippy peanut butter and deals on patio furniture—until it's time to check out. Then, Costco is a nightmare come to life.

Lines are 10 people deep. Everyone has a flat cart piled high with liquor and snack food. No one has patience. We're all hangry and desperate for $1.99 Costco food court pizza.

For some members, this ungodly chaos is about to disappear from Costco runs. The beloved warehouse chain has announced exclusive extra shopping hours for its Executive Members. Here's what you need to know about the change.

Costco's New Hours for Members

Per a @costco Instagram post, Executive Members will be able to beat the rush and start shopping as early as 9 a.m., Monday through Sunday.⁣ This change goes into effect on June 30, 2025, which is perfect timing for those of us who need to do Fourth of July shopping. 44 ounces of Heinz ketchup, here I come!

In an email that was shared on Reddit, Costco assures members that warehouse businesses will also open early. That includes Costco Optical, Costco Tire Center, and, for reasons I don't fully understand, the food court. No word on whether the $1.50 hot dog deal will be available at 9 a.m.

In the email from Costco, the club also says its U.S. warehouses will stay open one extra hour on Saturdays, closing at 7 p.m. This perk is available to all members, Executive and Gold Star alike.

How Much Is an Executive Membership?

To enjoy Costco's early hours, you'll need an Executive Membership, which is $130 per year. This membership level also comes with another perk: a 2% rebate on every Costco purchase. If you spend $7,000 a year, the membership pays for itself!
