Experience
Throughout her undergraduate experience, Abby Rose discovered a passion for storytelling as well as a love for creating inexpensive, delicious home-cooked meals. While attending George Washington University, a school known for its lack of dining halls, she had to learn how to make quick, nutritious, and affordable breakfasts, lunches, and dinners daily. From Trader Joe’s to Whole Foods and the local markets in between, Abby Rose was able to craft her own personal, budget-friendly book of recipes that would provide delicious choices each week. While cooking turned from a necessity to an everyday joy, these quality meals ensured her ability to indulge in her second passion: writing.
After obtaining her Bachelor’s in Sociology and Journalism & Mass Communications, Abby Rose graduated with her Master’s Degree from The Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in May 2024. As a journalist striving to make an impact, she looks forward to applying all she has learned to write thoughtful pieces that help her fellow home cooks!
Favorite cooking tool: "My favorite cooking tool is my bagel slicer. Having grown up in New York, bagels are a beloved staple. With this tool, I don’t have to worry about my halves being uneven or accidentally cutting myself with a knife. My bagel cutter has traveled with me to each apartment I have lived in—it's a sliver of family, comfort, and home."
